Samar Singh disguised as one of the gift bearers informs Manu that Lacho has once again conspired with Fraser to kill the king during the course of the play. A worried Manu informs Tatya Guru about Lachos plan to kill the king, and about Motibais plot to turn the drama into a reality! Tatya Guru goes searching for Lacho. Motibai picks a poison bottle and vows that history will remember how a courtesan died in the arms of her loved one after marrying him, and how only she will be known as the Queen of Jhansi. As per the legendary tale of Nala-Damayanti, in the final scene of the play, Gangadhar appears as Nala in nine different forms. Lacho aims her arrow but is unsure who the real king is, so she waits for Damayanti to garland her loved one. Meanwhile, a maid sees Motibai lying unconscious.
