Gangadhar's astrologer tells her that if Manu weds Gangadhar, Gangadhar's rivals wouldn't be able to unseat him. Janki asks the astrologer to obtain Manu's horoscope. Manson, who unsuccessfully tests Manu's fire arrow, is told by Dhrupad that Manu has planted a flag near the commissionerate's HQ. Manson accuses the peshwaship and Manu of behaving mutinously.
